In our words:
the hapas nightmær is a high output pickup, made for simon "sludge" hawemann of the band nightmarer. after extensively testing countless pickups for years on end, simon got together with the tone connoisseurs at hapas guitars to develop a humbucker fit for his massive tone.
it blends just the right amount of saturation with a grain structure that is fine-tuned for crushingly heavy metal and ties it all up with an aggressive, yet dynamic response. thanks to its asymmetrical winding, the nightmær boasts an extended frequency range, particularly relevant for those of you who enjoy the dark growl of low tunings, but need to keep things tight.
equally significant r&d went into the creation of the neck counterpart, which provides a perfectly matched, super round, and fat tone. playing them together in coil-split mode might surprise you with all the different tones and dynamics you can get out of the pair.
it isn't called nightmær for no reason, though: if you like the tones on both nightmarer records, you will love this pickup! it was road-tested on the band's last two tours, overseas and in the us. meaning if you saw them play, you heard this monster in action already…
